Father God, lover of children,
We enter your tabernacle of praise.
For our children this child's request we pray.
Teach them to learn of your kind ways,
To pray for themselves and others each day.
Nurture them, Lord, and keep them safe.
Teach them to honor Your presence as each
morning brings the light of day.
As the sun rises to snuggle their little faces,
let them grow and sprout their wings
in this beautiful earth place.
Teach them to give thanks in every way.
For each success or failure, they may face.
Help them to imagine, hope, and believe.
Let them run, play, and sing as if
tomorrow were yesterday’s dream.
Teach them to understand the walk of
humility and cuddle the strength of faith.
Make them know You, Lord, and
understand Your bounds of mercy and grace.
Instill in them the rewards of obedience.
Help them to savor life's special ingredients.
Lord God, we humbly ask that You claim
each precious soul. Cover them with thy
wings of mercy and never let them go. Amen!

The sound of Joy! A thousand words contained in a frame.
My Little Red Ball went out to sea.
I'm not sure why it left me.
I was playing catch with Tommy, having a good time
bouncing and kicking it around with my feet.
I feel sad and lonely because my ball no longer loves me.
It just rolled away into the sea with a huge grin on its face,
almost like it was saying, "See ya later, kid! I'm free!"
I felt a lil guilty for giving it a swift kick out to sea.
All I could do was stand there, in shock with open hands,
as my Little Red Ball took wings across the beach sand.
My friend looked at me, as I looked at him.
We said in unison, "Don’t look at me, I’m not going in."
I called out to Mom to please fetch it for me.
She yells back to say no way! I am not going out to sea.
That is what you get for kicking the ball with your feet.
I gazed at my Little Red Ball as it drifted out to sea.
I felt a tinge of sadness as I shook my head in disbelief.
The wide smile on its surface seemed to mock me, saying,
"Goodbye, I am free."
There went my Little Red Ball, swimming happily out to sea.

"The memories that we cherish are the ones we recall vividly." - qeb
What makes our handsome sons and beautiful daughters so unique?
I think it's their little silken, round, chubby cheeks.
Precious little chubby cheeks house a smile that sparks your heart.
A smile that draws you in and causes you to shed joyous tears.
Allowing you a glimpse of the future and a peak into their wonder years.
Without an uttered word, our newborns are clever.
They have a way of letting you know when they are hungry or in discomfort,
a pattern they will practice forever.
Radiant little eyes that capture your heart like the perfect sunrise.
Chubby little cheeks that offset those little hands and feet.
Little hands and feet that are made for kissing repeatedly.
Chubby cheeks, how sweet and tasty,
just one caress of a kiss sets your day for greatness.
Chubby little cheeks full of joy and laughter bursting to be free.
Born out of love, a mixture of Mom and Dad’s blood.
A perfectly crafted gift presented from heaven above.
A little bundle of joy with a unique personality.
I love those little chubby cheeks adorably, for they are a part of me.
Little cheeks are round and perfect as can be.
Little cheeks flushed with the color of blushing red beets.
Little cheeks pulling at your heartstrings, just begging to be tweaked.
Your heart begins its race at the sight of a tear stain face.
Just one little tear drop on chubby cheeks
You hear their voice loud and clear.
You will pledge then and there to keep all sorrows at bay.
You will vow to protect them forever in a day.
You will vow to love them always
in that special mother and fathering way.
Chubby little cheeks,
kiss them goodnight before you lay them down to sleep.
Embrace them and whisper
“I love you” as they drift off to count little sheep.

Though I may have been born with irregularities.
Perhaps without the mobility of my hands or feet.
My differences don't make me less of a human being.
Am I not God's creativity?
Does not my father's blood run through me?
One thing I know for sure is that His love is perfect and pure.
Mistakes He does not make it's all a part of His amazing grace.
Perhaps you are the norm and I am the abnormality.
How would you know if God's word doesn't say so?
I am special because He took the time to fashion me differently.
For I am simply amazing from my head to my feet.
A perfect example of God's compassion and mercy.
I am grateful that He embraced me.
The decision was God's to make, either to discard or to keep.
He was the potter and I was His clay piece.
Handcrafted as one of His best masterpieces.
I am a person of beauty placed on display for the world to see.
Why not embrace me?
Perhaps it's all in what you're willing to believe, and I believe in me.
My Father was perfect even as he hung from a tree.
With his blood-stained face and nailed scarred feet.
I am only an extension of him, so why not Embrace Me?

Dad, you called me forward by moving God’s hand in prayer several years ago. So, Dad, I had to stand before you today and tell you I love you so.
I know I have not always shown you my heart, Dad in the ways that you would like in the past. But I hope these heartfelt words I am sharing, with you do not leave your heart fast.
I just want to say thank you for being there for me, especially at my performances and my graduations, because it meant the world to me. So, thank you Dad for being my hero and having the faith to believe that I would one day be. You’re an incredible Dad and I would not trade you for anything this world would try to offer me.
It was your prayer with the pastor’s anointing, and God’s provision that I am even here to receive. I receive your love and support in ways only you as my hero can portray. So, wear your crown Dad, and enjoy this special day, because you are my unsung hero in every way!
Love you always,
Brianna Harris, Ringold, GA
